The subject photo and background photo can have different proportions; the background is centered and cropped to fill the subject image dimensions. Check the result to make sure the crop suits your composition.

Limitations

  • Static JPG, PNG, and WebP photos up to 10 MB and 8 megapixels are supported. Animated files are not supported.
  • AI works best when one clear subject stands apart from the background. Hair, glass, blur, and crowded scenes can leave uneven edges.
  • Background color and photo placement are composed on your device after the cutout. The uploaded photo is used only for background removal.
  • The free preview has a maximum 900-pixel edge. An eligible HD result preserves the accepted source dimensions and uses one credit after successful processing.

How do I add a new background photo?

Choose a subject photo, remove its background, select Photo in the result controls, then choose a second image from your device.

Does my background photo upload?

No. It is read and cropped in your browser. The subject photo is uploaded for the AI background-removal step.

How is the background photo fitted?

It is centered and scaled to cover the cutout dimensions, so some edges can be cropped. The subject is not stretched.
