How to shrink a signature image

By Sekora Studios · Updated

Sign on white paper, photograph it, and crop away the extra paper. Then open Resize signature image, pick a maximum file size, and download. The width, height, and format stay the same. You attach that image wherever the form asks for a signature file. This page does not sign a PDF for you.

Resize a signature image

Steps

  1. Photograph or scan the signature on a plain background.
  2. Crop the image so the frame is mostly the signature.
  3. Open Resize signature image and choose the maximum file size.
  4. Create the file and read the size it actually reached.
  5. Zoom in. If the strokes broke up, try a larger limit or a PNG.

PNG and small limits

JPG can get smaller by lowering quality. PNG often cannot hit a tiny limit because it is not compressed the same way. If the tool says the limit was missed, raise the target or switch to JPG when the form allows it.

Where the file goes next

Download the image and upload it in the form, Word file, or signing service you already use. SafeImageTools does not place the signature on a contract.

More questions

Will this sign my PDF?

No. You get an image file. You add it to the document yourself.

Can I change the pixel size?

Not in this tool. It keeps the width and height. Crop or resize first if the image is too large on the page.
